Ukraine today became the first government to announce a cryptocurrency airdrop since El Salvador made Bitcoin legal tender in 2021. The snapshot will be taken tomorrow at 2 pm Kyiv time on March 3 to reward donors. At present, it is unclear which blockchains will be eligible for the Ukraine airdrop. There are several official Ukrainian crypto addresses, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Polkadot.
Airdrop confirmed. The snapshot will be taken tomorrow, March 3, at 6 pm Kiev time (UTC/GMT +2 hours).

An airdrop consists of sending coins or tokens to wallets as a reward. Airdrops are often part of a marketing campaign to launch new projects, promote key milestones, or issue a new token to replace an existing one. A snapshot of the blockchain is taken at a specific time and rewards are sent to all included wallet addresses.
In this case, it seems that Ukraine will send a reward in the form of NFT or token to all wallets that have donated before the snapshot cut-off time. However, without knowing which blockchain they are referring to, it is unknown which donors will receive the airdrop.
Ukrainian government wallets
The official Bitcoin address in Ukraine has received 213 BTC to date, with a total of 9,387 transactions since February 24. The address has also sent an equal amount of BTC to what looks like a change purse.
There have been more than 19,000 transactions on the country’s Ethereum wallet, with the government sending more than $6.5 million worth of ERC20 tokens to the Kuna exchange on February 28.

His Polkadot wallet received a similar amount of $6.1 million, with most of it coming from gavin wood. However, there have only been 865 transactions from this address.
What may contain the Ukraine Airdrop
Currently, there is no information on the nature of the airdrop reward. They may just be taking a snapshot of one of your donation addresses. If Ethereum is the blockchain of choice, it is possible that the reward will take the form of an NFT. This would likely result in more than 20,000 NFTs being minted.
It is certainly an exciting approach to fundraising and shows that Ukraine is well versed in the cryptosphere. There is plenty of time for donations to accumulate in the next 24 hours before the snapshot is taken. Furthermore, Ukraine has not set any limitations on the size of the donation required to qualify for the airdrop, so the number of eligible wallets could grow exponentially.
According to his announcement on Twitter, Mikhail Fedorov will post more updates on the Ukraine crypto donation campaign.
