Solana has another major outage as a single misconfigured node shuts down the entire network on Saturday. Because the Solana network is offline, validators cannot process transactions. The Solana team has now asked validators to perform a Solana Mainnet restart, requiring at least an 80% stake to restart. As a result, the price of Solana (SOL) has fallen by more than 6% in the past 24 hours.

Solana Network Outage

The Solana blockchain has experienced its fourth outage this year, nearly a year after the September 14 outage, which left the network offline for 18 hours. Solana status in a tweet on October 1, the Solana network revealed an outage and problems processing transactions. Developers are working to diagnose and fix the problem.

In a subsequent tweet, the Solana team is releasing instructions for Mainnet beta validators to reboot the Solana Mainnet beta cluster. Validators are required to search logs for the highly optimistic confirmed lock “153139220”.

In addition, Solana validator Laine in a series of tweets informed that a misconfigured node has caused an unrecoverable partition on the network. Validators struggled with consensus because a validator ran a duplicate of the validator instance.

“The Solana mainnet network is rebooting at slot 153139220, the last confirmed slot. It appears that a misconfigured node has caused an unrecoverable partition on the network. Validators, participate in finding consensus on the relevant data.”

According to Laine’s validator monitoring platform, the developers have started the reboot. However, the restart of the Solana network is 57% complete. It requires active interest visible in gossip to reach 80% before the Solana network can go online.

SOL price drops amid grid outage

Solana, once dubbed the “Ethereum Killer”, is losing the trust of the crypto community. Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana, even claims that the network outages have become a bane for them.

The Solana (SOL) price is down more than 87% from its all-time high in November. The SOL price fell by more than 6% after the outage in the Solana network. At the time of writing, the price is trading at $32. Solana price could fall even further if the restart doesn’t happen soon.
