NFTNYC, one of the largest non-fungible token (NFT) events of the calendar year, is gearing up to open its doors for the fourth year, celebrating the diversity of NFTs across sixteen sectors including art, film, sports and entertainment. Ticketing.

Held from June 20-23, the blockbuster event will serve as a global melting pot for everyone who is a somebody in the NFT world, showcasing 1,500 speakers in panels, talks, fireside chats and hundreds of pop-up events. Attendance figures are expected to rise from 5,600 last year to more than 15,000 this time.

Cointelegraph spoke with NFTNYC co-founder and VP of growth Jodee Rich and Quinn Button respectively, as well as Web3 entrepreneur Michael Litman, to find out more about their expectations for the New York event. They also discussed how current market conditions could affect the momentum of the NFT movement and the artistic conversations it cultivates.

With a conscious emphasis on prioritizing community desire over brands or corporations, the NFTNYC team selected 221 emerging international artists from an application pool of 5,000 to showcase their work on the Times Square Billboard and throughout the Marriott hotel.

After the event, these artists will have the opportunity to mint their work at a price of their choosing and keep 75% of all revenue generated from primary and subsequent sales. Specific details about the purchase have yet to be announced.

Speaking of the ubiquitous community of NFT fans scheduled to gather in the Big Apple, Rich proudly shared that it’s a “very diverse and eclectic audience”:

“Ours is to give voice to the community. That’s what we wanted to do from the beginning. We are not a celebrity-seeking event, we want the community to feel like this is a place where they can be on stage and talk to the rest of the community.”

This single-minded intention to empower youth and passion with a platform is perhaps most aptly attested by the presentation of Unconference: an impromptu, unscheduled stage that welcomes all guests for a ten-minute slot to share their thoughts. and visions for space.

Speaking about the potential impact this fortune could have on the overall narrative, Rich wanted to express that art is the main utility of NFTs, and that his excitement remains for the connections and friendships that will be formed at the event, especially for example those during chance moments in informal conversations and between speakers on the same stage.

Quinn Button, Vice President of Growth at NFTNYC, agreed with the assessment that myriad utility use cases across different sectors will be showcased, highlighting music as one to watch:

“I think an interesting utility of NFTs will be how it affects the music industry, whether it’s royalties, merchandising, or generating new revenue streams to really connect musicians with their fans.”
