In a shocking turn of events, Logan Paul deleted his response video targeting Coffeezilla’s series on CryptoZoo, where he accused the latter of spreading misinformation and even threatened to take him to court.
From posting sketches on Vine to transitioning to YouTube and even fighting in WWE, controversy and legal troubles have followed Logan Paul since he was a teenager. His rise to fame has been chaotic. Social media star NFT company Crypto Zoo is no different. There’s no denying that the project is in big trouble.
After retracting Coffeezilla’s claims, Paul said he wants to take responsibility, apologize, and come up with a plan for his NFT venture in the near future.
Logan Paul’s apology
Popular Internet detective Coffeezilla, aka Stephen Findeisen, claimed Paul’s Crypto Zoo project was a scam in a three-part series.
As previously reported, Crypto Zoo launched in September 2021 with Paul as one of its founders. Prior to that, the 27-year-old Ohio native’s push generated a significant gaming frenzy, which was said to allow users to earn passive income. Despite promising big returns, Coffeezilla said investors were left with big holes in their pockets.
Over a year later, no game has materialized. In the video, the researcher alleged that the developers had abandoned CryptoZoo shortly after its launch in 2021, and Paul quietly distanced himself from the project thereafter.
After remaining silent for a few days, Paul responded with insults for “sensationalizing” the story. He defended himself by blaming two people currently under criminal investigation, who played the role of co-founders and advisors to CryptoZoo, as the real culprits for any wrongdoing. Paul also spoke about the controversy in a now-deleted episode of his ‘Impaulsive’ podcast and vowed to drop a libel suit.
Less than a week later, he apologized to Coffeezilla. He to postwhich was made on the Discord server, read,
“I will take responsibility, apologize and present a plan in the near future. Thank you all for believing in this project and continuing with me. It was rash and misaligned with the real issue at hand, so I called him today and apologized… the war is not with Coffee. In fact, I’m grateful that he brought this to light.”
Appointment with Shady Crypto Projects
This isn’t the first time Paul has found himself in trouble over a shady project. In fact, the social media celebrity was accused of promoting a “fuck coin” called Dink Doink in July 2021.
Paul was the main focal point of promotions for the project that parodied the popular animated show “South Park.” It drew significant criticism after it lost all value.
