Kraken Supports Songbird (SGB) Airdrop for XRP Holders

We are delighted to announce that we will be supporting the airdrop of the Songbird (SGB) token for XRP holders!

The snapshot of the airdrop of XRP balances was taken on December 12, 2020 at ~00:00 (UTC). Client accounts (both spot and margin) that held XRP at this time have now been credited with 0.1511 SGB for every 1 XRP held on the platform.

Please note that customers residing in Japan are not eligible for this airdrop.

About leveraged positions

If you held a leveraged long position via snapshot, you will be credited an SGB balance for this position.

If you held a leveraged short position Through the snapshot, we have waived any negative SGB balance that may have arisen.

Financing and trading

When funding is enabled, you can add SGB to your Kraken account by navigating to Moneyselecting the resource and pressing To deposit. This blog will be updated when funding and trading go live.

What is Songbird?

Songbird is Flare’s canary network. Songbird is intended to serve as an experimental blockchain where developers can test their projects and governance mechanisms before deploying them to Flare. The SGB token serves as the base currency of the network and can be used in the governance of the protocol.
