A widely held belief among cryptocurrency enthusiasts is that the industry is going to change people’s lives forever. And this has been the case with the many stories we find online.
Brittany Pierre, a 36-year-old woman living paycheck to paycheck, saw her life change for the better after a chance encounter with the non-fungible token (NFT) space.
Brittany Pierre shares her NFT story
This precarious situation was Pierre’s ideal state until a close friend of his, Elise Swopes, made $17,600 from sales of one of his works through an NFT platform.
Her friend’s success inspired her to try the industry as well. She started by learning how NFTs work from two places: her friend Elise and the Internet.
Just a month after getting acquainted with the space, Pierre made his first set of NFT sales for a few hundred dollars each, which was more than he had ever made.
He found that the first NFT sales he made were significant because they represented what he needed to pay his rent.
At the time of his first sales, Pierre had just found another day job, but decided to quit and pursue NFT full-time, a decision that would later change his life forever.
Last year, he made more than $100,000 from sales of his artwork on an NFT platform, an income he described in a recent interview as life-changing.
He added that beyond meeting his basic needs, he has been able to indulge himself, get better photography equipment and is now saving up to buy a Tesla and a place of his own.
After his time in space, he concluded:
“that not only NFTs, but cryptocurrencies in general, can help marginalized people, especially the black community.”
